I`ll need to know if the gasoline pump works continuosty or not. Thank you very much

Electricity doen`t reach the pump, so the mechanic wants to "plug" it to another source.

No, have it repaired correctly. Take it to another shop and have it properly diged and repaired

The pump works continously when engine is running but there are safety features incorporated into the system to stop it in case of accident. Rigging it to a constant source is a safety hazard.

It only runs as long as the engine is running. It won't and shouldn't run if the engine is not running.
