I have a 1980 Audi 80 gl with 1.6 motor. I just want to know every time I have to start my car I need to suck petrol because the petrol keeps on running back in the fuel tank and when I stop at a robot or stop street and I try to pull away the car almost dies or sometimes really does die what can be the problem?

If you are losing fuel pressure only at an idle, I would recommend checking the fuel pressure regulator. It is located on the fuel rail. You should also check fuel pressure at an idle. If you look on our homepage, you will find directions and video which are very helpful.

Let me know what you find.
