1978 Ford Bronco Well Engine 429 Slight Knock Just Does Cold Remove Cord

ok well my engine is a 429 and has a slight knock i dont know if it just does it when its cold but if i remove a cord from the distributor cap it will knock worse what could it be the odometer says 37771.8

Best be sure of the sound a knock can be a bearing noise a tick can be a lifter noise, have you checked the engine oil pressure oil? do this with a mechanical gauge and advise the readings.
