1978 Chev. Power steering fluid comes out of cap when vehicle is shut off

There is air in the system that hasn't bled out. While running and under pressure, the air is compressed. When the engine stops, the air expands and pushes the fluid out. This is real common on newer Fords; not so much on GM and Chrysler products.
