When I buy the part will the code go away cause my car is in limp. Mode and can't go over 25 MPH. Am I buying the right part? Camshaft magnets? Because it says faulty solenoid on actuator bank 1 open. And will I have to take it to mercedes shop to get check engine light off and for the part to work or is it a plug n play part? And the code will erase on its own? N will I get to go over 25 MPH once I put it on??

Hi,

If it is indicating an open circuit, that likely means there is a broken wire or something disconnected. Yes, it could be the solenoid, but I would start by inspecting the wiring.

If you look at pic 1 below, it shows the location of the intake camshaft solenoid. Disconnect the wiring to it and inspect the connector, check for damaged wires, and for corrosion in the plug.

If everything checks good, I attached the directions for replacing it below. As far as the check engine light, it should reset itself after a set number of faultless running conditions.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
