I have a 97 lincoln conti and the car does not start at all because of the no spark problem. I tested the coils and they are working good. I dont think it could be the pcm because that rarely goes out. I was told that the car doesn't have an icm but im not for sure about that. Autozone tells me it dont and advance auto parts tells me it do so im confused but I tried to find it on the firewall and its not there so I guess it dont. My first choice would be the crankshaft sensor but I dont want to buy that and its not it so do anyone know what could be the problem here?

First thing you need to do is have the codes read, Autozone does it free, Post the results with the code number(s). Even if the service engine light is not on, there should be freeze frame data stored.
If it won't make it to Autozone, buy a cheap scanner, they can be had for 30-40 dollars, a good investment, since they cover all cars sold in the USA from 96 on.
If the light is blinking, it means possible damage to the converter. Service it right away!
If there is no signal from the crank sensor, you will not get any spark. Make sure the connector is on tight.
