2000 Pontiac Grand Prix wont start

2000 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Automatic 125, 00 miles

i have a 2000 pontiac grand prix gtp. When I start the car, the idle is a little rough. When you hit 3000 rpms, the car shakes and sputters. Also, if I drive it somewhere, turn off the car even for five minutes, the car will not start again for a couple of hours. It will just start, sputter, and turn off. What do you think is wrong?

Check fuel pressure and suspect fuel pump
check if in need of a tune up
check if security light on and or blinking when its not starting for you
