My grand prix supercharged runs fine got plenty of power and great response but on occasions it will act like its going to stall out then it clears up and runs fine again.I have went thirty miles without it doing anything but I have drove it 5 blocks and it constantly acting up. What might be the problem Im haveing I've changed plugs and wires and air filter, It didnt act up until I put a new maf sensor on it but its not given any codes when I put a scanner on it.

Make sure you installed the correct MAF for the supercharged engine, not the normally aspirated 3.8.

If correct part #, use MAF cleaner spray to clean the MAF and make sure there is no debris in the MAF.

But, if performance changed after MAF change, then it is logical to conclude the MAF is bad, even though new.

Even though its not cause the service engine light to come on or giveing a code its still possible that the sensor is bad. Also the one for the 98 grand prix did not match the one that came out of the car had to get one for a 99 grand prix instead. Would that be a problem?

Yes, sure could be.

Check with GM parts and see if there was a midyear change on the MAF sensor and if they sell one for yours. (price probably won't be cheap).

My parts cataloge shows two different part numbers for MAF sensor for 98 and 99.

98 MAF:
