1992 Nissan Maxima Car died will not restart

Help please, my son was driving home from work today and the car died and will not restart. We have tried all the usual stuff. Charged the battery after we killed it by cranking so long. It turns over nicely but just will not start. It has fuel but I am not sure about spark. Thanks

Pull one of the spark plugs and lay it and the attached coil or wire on top of the engine and turn the key if it sparks you have more problems like timing or anti theft device enabled
