Today this morning my wife drove the car, parked for about 15mins or so. We then came out to goto gym. The car wouldn't start, she tapped on the gas pedal the car came alive(started)but it was sputtering like there was a clog or something. We grove over to the gym. Car started fine but we both notice a power change(sluggish). We parked. Went out a 1 hour later no start. (Was going to put in a bottle of fuel cleaner) since then I have checked the fuel pump. Working fine. I have had this sluggish thing happen to me before, but the car would start it was cat converter, it broke apart on my v.W gt1 and clogged the muffler.
if this happened in the max. Would it stop it from starting?

To answer your last question it would its preventing the engine from breathing. Crank and no start do below might lead you somewhere between fuel and spark

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 away from ground-have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
