Engine Cooling problem
1998 Jeep Cherokee Four Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles

my jeep is leaking coolant. I have repeatedly had the little metal plugs replaced in the manifold replaced. This problem still persists periodically. I need to know what parts to buy to fix this problem completely. Please help me if you can thanks whitney fields

See my profile,....Imma CJ and Willys Kinda Guy

I do not know your rig

I am assuming you mean the "Freeze Plugs"

Is it really bad leaking or just a seep?

If its a seep you might find a local ENGINE MACHINE SHOP......ask for some "REBUILDERS BLOCKS"

The ones I got were rectangular with square ends (3/4 X 3/4 X 2) inches and looked like charcoal.

My 1946 Willys has a crack, on the block, thru the freeze plug hole (behind my dipstick housing tube) about 5 inches total in length......Found after it was machined totally.........So I went on with it, and built the engine.

It seeped pretty good at 1st, with about 5 of those blocks CRUSHED UP and put in the radiator.

It slowed up and finally stopped completely before my "WILLY" (thats his name) hit 1500 miles.

That was in 1995......Still holding!!!

Send back good news!
