While driving my battery light came on. On the way home I stopped at the local auto parts store to have the battery and alternator checked. The battery was fine but the alternator came up bad. Drove home and parked the car. I went to start it two days later and it would turn over fine but no spark. Could a defective alternator toast my distributor? The distributor was replaced in September by the way.

The alternator shouldn't toast the distributor but starnger thing have happened. Check your underhood fuses though, there is one for the alternator, I thinkis #41 otherwise it may be an module problem not the distributor. Or a ground for the module.

There is no #41 fuse. There is a fuseable link #41 printed on the wiring diagram but no such fuse.

Retime the distributor. Turn piston # 1 to TDC on firing stroke and note if distributor rotor is pointing to # 1 cylinder. Some remand distributors are installed 180 degrees oposite so the firing order would be out.

If engine had been idle for extended periods, check the compression. They could be low due to the cylinders drying out and does not have any lubrications to seal the piston rings. Remove spark plugs and pump some engine oil into cylinders. Crank the engine for a few seconds and reinstall spark plugs and retest.

Note the position of the spark plug wire for # 1 cylinder on distributor cap and when crankshsft is turned to the correct position, the rotor should be pointing at the place where the #1 spark plug wire should be when distributior cap is installed.

I replaced the distributor about 2 months ago and ever since then, I have felt that it lost some of its power when accelerating. It was getting worse so I decided that I should change the spark plugs. I did that and I was still having problems. Everytime I accelerate over 4000 rpm, I hear this rattleling sound in my engine and also I lost more power drastically. I then decided to change my spark plug cables and it didnt solve a thing. Is there anything else im overlooking?

You replaced the distributor but when you do that you upset the vehicles timing. It needs to have the timing checked and adjusted. The rotation of the distributor adjusts the engine timing. You need to disable the car computer and hook up a timing light to do this.
