1992 Honda Civic Hesitation when accelerating

Recently my car has started to hesitate and jerk as I accelerate from a stop. Now it even occurs at the beginning of each gear as I shift from 1st through 3rd gear. My intuition is that it is the clutch, but it does not happen all the time and it is capable of spinning the tires if I pop the clutch. I never had one go on me before so I'm not sure what the tell tail signs are.

Hi jutkolb,

The symptom described are more likey to be the spark plugs misfiring and most like cause are the plug wires. Check them and the spark plugs, distributor cap and rotors as well.
