1999 Honda Accord vapor lock

When the car sits in the sun and the tempature is greater than 85 degrees the car will not start.
It sound like it wants to kick over but it won't.
When the tempature cools down the car starts. Also
if you open the gas cap you can hear air escaping.

Hi TMURPH24,

Vapour lock is a thing of the past, nowadays with the fuel pump in the tank and initial priming of the fuel system while turning on the ignition switch, they don't exist.

Pressure is always present in the fuel tank so not surprising if you hear any noise while opening the gas cap.

You could be having a problem with the main relay, the circuit board is known to have bad contacts. Check it out.
