I have a 99 honda accord, 100,000 miles. When idleing, the engine sputters or even dies at times. The radio and instrument panel stay on. This even began to happen happen while I was driving in traffic. Fortunately the engine starts up when I turn it on after it dies. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

If you step on the throttle just a touch and it runs perfectly fine, I would look into your idle system.

It may be a clogged or dirty IACV motor or a vacuum leak.

If it still runs rough when you are giving it throttle, then I would look at tune-up items first, then into fuel items and sensor parameters.
