I've been having this issue for about 2 weeks with my car hesitating slightly when accelerating, sometimes and sometimes not. But today I was on my way to work and going from 2nd to 3rd gear the car revved up to 4000 rpms and wouldnt shift out. After slowing down and pulling over a couple of times I finally made it to work what could be the issue? Please help

Sounds like the transmission is slipping. Get it into a transmission shop asap and have them diagnosis it.

Hopefully it's something that can be resolved without overhauling the transmission.
