Dear Folks,
I have an intermittent problem that puzzles me. I have had trouble starting my 1992 Honda Accord. It seems that on occasion maybe once a week the starter motor turns and the car seems to want to start but it doesn't. I have been able to get it started by holding the gas pedal down all the way to the floor. The strange part is that the Check Engine light comes on and on the dashboard the D4 light for the transmission blinks non-stop. I can drive the car with these lights on.
I have travelled as much as 15 minutes, stopped the car and easily restarted the engine. The Check Engine light and the transmission dash lights and back to normal.
The only thing that I have noticed is that this seems to happen when it is damp outside.
The plugs and plug wires were changed about 20,000 miles ago. Nothing has been done to the distributor.
Would you have any idea as to what I should check?

Hi jwalter89,

Thank you for the donation.

The symptoms are consistent with a faulty PGM-FI main relay located underdash. The relay is known to intermittently cause problem due to cold solders on the circut board. Resoldering the joints would usually get the problem resolved. Alternatively is to get the replay replaced.
