My 95 mustang 3.8L wont start without using starting fluid if it has been sitting for more than a few hours. After starting, it seems to run fine. Although I think the fuel economy has dropped. I replaced the fuel filter and some electrical parts before I realized I could start it with the starting fluid. It used to take overnight before it would fail to start but now it is just a few hours. I think it could be the fuel pressure regulator but I am unemployed and connot afford to just throw parts at it. I need to know how to prove what the problem is before I spend any money. How do I prove whether it is the regulator or maybe the IAC or MAF sensor?

Check the fuel pressure if it's within specs to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light.

I have very limited funds and I dont have a pressure testing set. They are 99 bucks at harbor freight and there are none to borrow locally. Can this be done with any other type of guages and if so how?
