1998 Ford Escort Car died and will not start

I started my car and started driving. My car died and now won't start. I replaced fuel filter, and it is getting fuel. I am running out of ideas. Also I checked foe codes and nothing shows up. Ideas?

Will the vehicle crank just not turn over or does it not attempt to crank at all?

First step would be to check for fuel and spark on all cylinders if it will crank. You can dump gas down the throttle body and try to tart it, if it fires up and runs till it runs out of gas then your good to suspect theresa fuel system issue.
