1993 Ford Escort Car wont start

My car battery is brand new, all the connections are clean and secure. However, the only thing that will turn on is the headlights. What could be the problem

I would check the alternator (advanced auto parts tests them for free), also could be the fuel injector/fuel filter/fuel pump. If you havent replaced your fuel filter in a while I would do that either way, it gets clogged and is a lot harder on your car.

Also could be a fuse for any of those, check you fuses to see if any are blown.
