While driving down the road my truck sounds like it is going to stall?

While driving down the road my truck sounds like it is going to die so I floor it and after a minute it will back fire real loud and power will restore it does this every 30-60 seconds it has also stalled at a light before to?

Hi, thanks for the donation, when was the last tune-up? Use a gage and check fuel pressure, any applicable trouble codes?

I had resently put new wires roter cap and plugs in it no codes are comming up I went ahead and bought a new converter and so far its been ok thanks for your response
