I just had my crank and cam sensors replaced then soon after I replaced right shock, left wheel bearing and 2 front ty-rods, now 2 weeks later my car starts off real gurggley like a slow idle so I put my foot on the gas to get it going and it comes up to a somewhat normal idle but it revs over and over again like I keep pushing on the gas over and over and over. I am afraid to drive it anywhere because I dont want to do any more damage to it. Also after I have my foot on the gas to keep it going I smell gas very strongly and if I could have some sort of idea what could be wrong than I can start looking into repairs. Please help!

Have a mechanic look at it before it goes up in flames with you inside!

In particular, they should look at the plastic fuel rail on the engine. They had a tendency to crack on older models. There was a repair kit for that and possibly a recall. That was long before 1999 though.

There was also an issue with the rubber o-rings on the injectors leaking. I never did one of those repairs so I don't know if there was a recall or service bulletin involved.

It's a little too new, but if you live in one of the salt belt states like Wisconsin, suspect rusted and leaking connectors on the fuel filter on the right frame rail under the car. You should be able to see a puddle on the ground.

Any fuel leak will result in lower than normal fuel pressure and a severe running problem. Normal is 45 - 50 pounds of pressure. Lucky you don't have a GM car. A drop of five pounds of pressure will result in a no-start condition. Chryslers will still run at ten pounds low, but they will run poorly.
