1997 Dodge Intrepid dont know were to start.

The car will start but I have to force it to stay running its got a bad nocking and squelling it will only run for a minute at the most I would really like to get it going but I have no idea were to start.

Either tow it to a shop, or trade it in on a newer car and let your dealer tow it.
With that kind of mileage it is going to need a lot of expensive repairs if you hear a loud knocking sound. The engine and transmission have neared the end of their service life. Sorry.
