1998 Chevy Truck Won't start, blows aux A 30 amp fuse

1998 Chevy Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic +200K miles

98 Chevy K1500 has no lights, no gauges, & will not start. Installed new battery. Found 30 amp auxilary A fuse blown. Replaced fuse - lights & gauges worked. Attempted to start, blew same fuse. Has dual battery setup.

The fuse can blow due to a system short, a metallic object getting into the outlet and shorting the terminals together or a device being used which exceeds the Amp rating of the fuse. Most likely you have a short on the circuit which is why the fuse blows instantly. The wiring of that particular fuses circuit will need carefully inspected/tested.
