1999 Chevy S-10 Compatability of an older transmission

1999 Chevy S-10 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 99 S10. The transmission is shot and I found a rebuild that is really cheap. But it's from an 82 S10. Would this transmission work for my 99 S10?

I don't have the cross reference information for that. However, I would say no. The newer ones are run by electric. I believe the 82 still depends on hydrolic pressure to shift. Also, this will lead to problems with the computer.
