2000 Grand Prix starts intermittantly

My 2000 grand prix, GT sometimes doesn't start. Everything, gauges, lights, etc is on, but nothing happens when key is turned. Keep trying and it will eventually work. Sometimes goes a month without a problem.

When this happens, have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for power at the smaller wire on the starter. You should get 12 volts. If you do, the starter is most likely the problem. If you don't get power, check the starter relay and the ignition switch.
