Check your Ignition switch (try holding your key at little above ign to see if it stays on, if it turns off as soon as you let go of key, then it's the ign switch.
If not then its probably the idle air control valve or something within the area.
Also check for fuel, does it start every time you go to start it before it shuts off?

One other way of checking tif it is the ignition switch that is causing the problem is to note the meter cluster indicator lights. If they do not turn on after the engine shuts off, the ignition switch is faulty.

Does the engine remain running if you keep the gas pedal slightly depressed?
