I have a 1994 ford escort. Recently I started it up and then after a minute of running it just shut off and wouldn't start up again. The alternator is okay and so is the spark plugs but could it be the battery cables.

None of my fuses are blown. Do u think its just the battery cables

Check for compression. If that is ok, check for fuel pressure.

Common for timing belts breaking.

Before the car stopped turning over the fuel pressure light would come on and I would have to pump the brakes while turning the key to get it to start. Also I have jumped it with another car and it starts up after about a 1 to 2 minute juice up

There is no fuel pressure light. What color was the light you saw?

Pump the brakes to start it? Sorry, never heard that one before.

If the battery is low and the rpms cranking are under 100 rpm, then it would not start. Check the battery first before proceeding
