Are you refering to the wire that prevents the computer from advancing timing? If so, I believe it is terminal 36. It connects the control computer to the ignition control module (ICM).
If you have a distributor (some do, some don't) and are setting timing, first, you don't have the ICM and timing is done with a light. Start the engine, allow it to warm up, loosten the distributor and turn it until you get it where you need to be.
