Cold Enrichment Valve Questions and Answers

This category contains featured questions as examples. They relate to most vehicles.

Question: 1998 Audi a4 mileage: 102,000. I just replaced the external fuel filter and ever since only when it is cold it has a hard time staying running until it warms up after 10-15 minutes. Once it is warmed up, it runs great. Someone mentioned a cold enrichment valve. I am not sure what that is.

Answer: The cold enrichment valve is only active during cranking when the engine is cold. Check electrical connector in the engine compartment. One may have been "bumped" while the fuel filter was changed.
