Key in the ignition, turn to start, all lights on the dash, fan etc come on, but engine doesn't move. Jiggle the transmission lever and/or the 4x4 transmission handle, and after a couple of tries it starts no problem. Someone has suggested the netural safety switch. Suggested holding the key in the start position while moving the transmission selection handle around. Tried that, didn't seem to make a difference. Thinking of replacing the battery to start, and then I am looking what to do next, other than surrender to expensive mechanic. Any suggestions, ideas?

Hi Roger.

Should not be the fault of the battery.

Possibilities are
1. Faulty ignition switch.
2. Faulty Park and Neutral safety switch as advised.

If you are able to use a test lamp and wants to DIY, I would gladly assist.
