1990 Toyota Corolla V12 say what? V12 is this correct

Check the oil pressure if okay-might want to adjust the valve lash.

V12?

The valve clearence is adjusted using adjusting shims, you need a special tool set to remove and install shims, J3341-A if memory serves.

Look at camshaft lobes for knicks, which will indicate excessive shim clearence. You may be better of just having the head rebuild.
