I will start from the very beginning of my problem 3 weeks ago. I stepped in my car just like any other day, insert my key in the ignition, turn the key. And nothing happens. It does not crank, turn, or make any indication that the starter even exists. The lights work, radio, power windows. All other electrical fascets of the vehicle operate. I get frustrated and leave my vehicle. I come back later on and it starts right up! Then again, later on, I park my car somewhere and it wont start. So I begin to trouble shoot. I first thought it could be the Neutral Safety Switch, so I replaced that. Then I thought it could be a bad ground from the battery, so I sanded the contacts and checked to make sure it was good. Then, I learned it could be my ignition switch. So I downloaded instructions on how to take out and clean the ignition switch. I did that, and still have the problem. By this time I'm sure you can see my frustration. I have missed appointments, and been late for dates because of this problem. So, I got fed up with it and took it to a GM Certified repair facility and THEY could not find out what was wrong. They had my vehicle for a WEEK and could not find out what was wrong. Then they came at me with "Our best educated guess is. And cost of repair and materials it $360". I'm not a rich man, and I prefer to fix my own problems, but I am at a loss here. So, I had a genius idea. You can start the vehicle, even when the key wont start it, if you turn the key to ON, crawl underneath, and cross the two posts on the soleniod. SO. I decided to make a permanent HOT WIRE to the vehicle. I was going to run some 10 Gage wire from those two contacts, through the firewall and inside the cab. And hook them up to a pushbutton switch. So when I have the problem, all I gotta do is turn the key to ON and push my button & BAM. Start up. However, I was underneath the vehicle trying to find out EXACTLY which contacts to run wire from. So I was trying to cross the posts again while looking at it so I knew for sure, because when I did it before I was going by feel. So I looked at the two contacts I assumed were it and stuck my wrench in there and accidently touched the frame too. There was a spark, and then I couldnt even start it by crossing the solenoid posts. AND THEN. I stepped into the cab and I turn my key to OFF, and I here a wierd clicking noise coming from the instrument pannel, along with that, my gages are twitching back and fourth, pegging out and then coming back. The clicking coming from the dash and the twiching of the gages goes away if I turn the lights on, or if I turn the key to ON. I disconnected the battery and let it be, came inside and decided that I need outside help. I need a professional. Please help.

You probably blew a fusible link-Check on the battery terminal of the starter. You will see a smaller wire with a lump on it. Stick a test like on it before and after it-the test light should lit both ways.

Check this fuses crank signal 10amp and the PCM/BCM 10amp, Crank fuse maxifuse 40amp,Crank relay, also the ignition1 maxifuse 30amp and the ignition2 maxifuse 50amp.
