No air coming out of the vents. Problems started with heater core, but almost appears that it the decline in air flow happened simultaneously. Initially it stopped blowing hard and was faint through the vents and I could only get faint air from the defrost. Heater core was replaced. Then yesterday the blend door actuator was replaced. Still nothing. No matter the mode. So, I did a little digging and found that I needed to calibrate the actuators. Now, the first attempt to calibrate we could see the actuator moving levels during the process but then it stopped. Even then, no air flow. On the cold setting for the air, nothing cold even though the Freon is full. You can hear the blower motor going, also checked the fuse is good. There appears to be a slight whistle almost like something is stopping the air from coming through the vents. My entire family including myself are asthmatics so it’s important to keep us cool when traveling, what do I do! Please help, I’m so lost. I was unaware that there was more than 1 actuator. So, what are my next steps as I only changed the blend door?

Also? I’m currently sitting in my vehicle and as I’m sitting here with the mode on the “floor” vent. It has changed on its own to front facing a defrost? Could it be the “mode” actuator?

Hi,

The mode door actuator is what controls the air flow direction. Since this started when the heater core was replaced, there is a chance wiring, or a connector was damaged.

Check the wiring and connector at the mode door actuator. I attached a pic below of its location. I just want to confirm the correct actuator was replaced because you mentioned the blend door actuator which is different.

Also, let me know if this has automatic or manual climate control.

Take care,

Joe
