08 mazda 3 11,000 miles 2 oil changes engine locked up past saturday. Repair tech says approval for a new engine is "pending" and would not make any guarantees or place me in a loaner car. Is this standard practice? Have had the car in once before for a/c blowing warm. Freon added sais it was probably shipped with low. Sound alright to you?

HI there,

The warranty claim on the engine is out of the hands of the dealer and is decided by Mazda warranty they will look into the issue and make a determination, as for the A/C issue, this should of been picked up at the pre delivery when the dealer got the car in stock, often the pre delivery is pushed through as not that important.

If I did nothing in mods or abused it, shouldn't they replace it? Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

If that is the case, you should have nothing to worry about, this is just a batter of Mazda doing the paper work, if the car was serviced and maintained as per warranty requirements there should not be an issue.
