2002 GMC Sierra V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

a couple of days ago I noticed my charging/volts gauge kinda flickering. My battery is only 2 mos old. Today myy truck was trying to die and every needle onevery gauge was bouncing rattically back and forth and every little light like abs, seat belt, etc. Light was flashing, and all at the same time! I managed to drive like 2 miles home while all these lights were going crazy flashing, myy truck was trying to die. Now I start my truck and it's like it never happened? Is it the computer or someting like the alternator or something in the charging system? Please help

Hi there,

I would be checking the earth cables are tight and making a good connection, also have the alternator inspected for over charging, start there.

I'm sure by now the problem has been solved. My 2001 Sierra had the EXACT symptoms as your truck. My problem was the positve battery cable was loose. I tightened it about 1 and a quarter turns and so far its better. My truck would about die when I turned the blower all the way from off. Would also get crazy if I held power window switch in the up position after it was closed. Now with the lights, blower, windows and my CB on there are no voltage problems. Start simple and work your way up. Hope this helps.
