My husbands truck will not start after being ran and getting hot or being in very hot weather. We have replaced the starter and gone to the dealer to have a $100 diagnostic done and they could not tell us what was wrong. It was not acting up when they tested it. It had been sitting for about 4 hours before they did test it, so it was not hot. The dome light, dash board, and head lights will turn on, and if the door is open there will be a dinging noise from the key being in the ignition; but when you turn the ignition key, there is not even a sound that happens at all. Just nothing, almost like the battery was disconnected but, well, with everyting else working, it is not the battery. And it is not the starter, it is new and when we took the core back, they tested it and said that it was fine.

First of all thank you so much for your donation.I posted a wire diagram for the starter circuit.Do you have a multimeter or test light? So we can trace power to find the problem when it's hot?Just to be on the safe side have you had the battery tested? Also made sure the battery cable's are clean and tight?

Thank you for attempting to help. A friend of ours who is an "old Salt" at fixing vehicles found that it was the cellenoid that was on the fire wall. The dealership had "hinted" at this but did not do anything about it because it did not show up on the test that he did. It seems to be working now. I will be back if this did not work and looking at your diagram does not work. Thanks again.

I was attempting to print out a copy of your wire diagram for the starter circuit because I cannot read it here, and I cannot seem to find a way to enlarge it enought to be able to read it. My husband wanted it just in case the cellinoid was not what was wrong. Can you send it to me in another way or enlarge it so we can read it?
