1999 Ford Contour

I'm thinking about buying a 1999 Ford Contour from someone, but, there are "minor" issues. I want to know if these are really minor issues and if in fact they are, and the estimated "cost" to fix these issues, is this a good buy?

The muffler needs a small piece replaced. Front windows motor is out. Oil pan needs new screws to hold it in place. It leaks because its missing screws to seal it. And the driver seat does not adjust. Estimated work value $250-300.

They don't sound like they are minor. Are the bolts broken off where they go into the oil pan? When you say a small piece of the muffler I'm confused. The muffler is on piece. If the muffler has a hole in it or is broken, it needs replaced. If neither front window works, then chances are there is an electrical problem. It could be a switch, relay, or both motors. THe driver's seat is a good question. I would need to know what is causing it to not work.

As far as minor, I would say that you "could" have over 1K in repairs based on what is actually wrong with the items you mentioned.

Let me know if you have other questions.
