My car overheated into the red. Shop said blown head gasket, hydrocarbons in the water and coolant and all the other things that happen with overheating. I paid 1700 to have it fixed. It still ran hot and after being shined on about 3 times my soninlaw told them that they better fix it. They had it a week and said fixed. After 2 days it began to run hot again and I really need a car. The gauge is up to 3/4 and I have to take it back again. What to do? What should they be doing?

It may be a bad water pump also, or defective thermostat.
When the vehicle overheated it probalby blew the headgasket or warped the head causing the hydrocarbon reading.
