Brakes problem
1996 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Automatic 147061 miles

I noticed that I have to put more pressure than usual on my brake pedal in order to stop. It just started happening, and it doesn't happen all of the time. I know I have to get it repaired by a professional. I am a young woman, and I don't want to get ripped off. Can you tell me how much is TOO much to pay for brake repair?

Hi there,

This will depend on what is the problem, when you apply the brakes is the pedal very hard and you have to push extremely hard to get the car to stop? If so this may be your brake booster failing, I would get a brake mechanic to check the system out and give you a quote, don't agree to fix it until you are happy with the price, shop around don't take the first price at fact.
